JOEL RASMUSSEN
Joel holds a postgraduate degree in Screen Cinematography from the prestigious AFTRS (Sydney). He, along with Rowena, currently serve as Creative Directors for Series 12 and 13 of The Voice Australia. They’ve also worked as Creative Directors for live performances by Jason Derulo, Jess Mauboy, Kate Miller Heidke, Adam Lambert and Rita Ora.
In 2023, he co-directed and was DOP for the music video "Give You Love" by Jason Derulo and Jess Mauboy, earning an Aria Nomination for Direction. Following this, he traveled to LA to direct and DOP live action visuals for Jason Derulo's opening sequence for his Tour and alongside Rowena, he led the creative direction for a range of new screen content.
Short film ‘Invisible’ made its world premiere at Flicker Fest and was an official selection at Oscar Qualifying St Kilda Film Festival. Other DOP work includes ‘Ellie Was Here’ which also premiered at St Kilda Film Festival in 2021 and numerous Music Videos, for Jason Derulo, Jessica Mauboy, Keiynan Lonsdale, H3rizon and more.
With 15+ years professional experience in all aspects of live performance, live TV, film, motion capture, theatre, musical theatre and TVC's, Joel’s work has put him in front and behind the camera.

Joel also worked as Choreographer/Movement Director for; Finch Company; Goodoil Films; Exit Films, Rabbit Content, Airbag and New Life Films Shanghai. Work includes; Shanghai Disneyland Spring TVC; Uber Eats France, Masterfoods, Domain, UNO Homeloans; Suncorp; Telstra; Kmart; Carlton United Brewery; McCains; RSPCA; Mersynofen; Aussie Apples; Sydney Metro and TK MAXX.
In live TV, Joel worked on 7 seasons of XFactor, in front and behind the camera as a resident choreographer and dancer. Other TV credits include The Voice, MTV Awards, Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards, Arias, The Morning Show, 7am, Sunrise, Hey Hey It’ s Saturday, Dancing With The Stars, The Deadly's, Funniest Home Videos, State of Origin and was a top 20 finalists for SYTYCD. Other choreography credits include Dance Boss, So You Think You Can Dance and the Commonwealth Games .
Movie credits include Happy Feet 2 (Dir: George Miller), as a motion capture artist, in the role of 'Atticus' and Goddess and was Assistant Choreographer for one of the highest grossing Bollywood movies, DHOOM 3.
Theatre credits include: HANDA Opera's CARMEN, Grease The Arena Spectacular (John Farnham), The Man From Snowy River, Hugh Jackman - The Boy From OZ, the Tap Pack and Tap Dogs.
