ROWENA RASMUSSEN

Rowena is a passionate Creative Director, Film Director, and Writer. She holds a Postgraduate degree in Screen Directing from AFTRS (Sydney). They served as Creative Directors for The Voice Australia Series 12 and 13, which they also Creative Directed live performances by renowned artists like Jason Derulo, Jess Mauboy, Adam Lambert and Rita Ora. Alongside Joel, Rowena Directed music video "Give You Love" by Jess Mauboy feat. Jason Derulo, earning an Aria Nomination for Direction.

At the end of 2023, Rowena and Joel traveled to LA to Direct and DOP visuals for Jason Derulo's Fridayz Live Tour. They also provided creative direction for a range of new animated screen content.

Rowena's passion for narrative shines through her work. Her short film 'Fourteen' was featured at several international film festivals, while 'Ellie Was Here' premiered at the Oscar Qualifying St Kilda Film Festival. She has an impressive portfolio for direction of music videos, including collaborations with Jason Derulo, Jess Mauboy, Keiynan Lonsdale, and TikTok sensation H3rizon.

Beyond directing, Rowena has extensive experience as a Choreographer/Movement Director for leading production houses such as Finch, Goodoil, Rabbit Content Airbag, Exit Films, and New Life Films Shanghai. Her commercial work includes projects for Disneyland Shanghai, Uber Eats, Masterfoods, Domain, UNO Homeloans, Suncorp, Telstra, Kmart, Carlton United Breweries, McCains, RSPCA, Mersynofen, TK MAXX, and Sydney Metro.

In her 15+ years of professional performance experience, Rowena has excelled in various disciplines. She has performed with Australian and international artists like, Jess Mauboy, Ricky Martin, Geri Halliwell, and Hugh Jackman, as well as for shows like XFactor, The Voice, SYTYCD, Australia's Got Talent, Australian Idol, The Australian Open, The Footy Show, AFL Grand Final, NRL Grand Final, 20/20 Cricket, Today, GMA, The Morning Show, Sunrise, Carols by Candlight Melbourne and Sydney, The Helpmann Awards, and more.

Additionally, Rowena has a successful background in Musical Theatre, having played significant roles in productions such as American Idiot, West Side Story (Manila production), Avenue Q, FAME, We Will Rock You, Miss Saigon, Hugh Jackman - The Boy From Oz, Sweet Charity, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Opera Australia’s Orpheus in the Underworld, and The Eighth Wonder.
